Background
Extremadura is an autonomous community of the western Iberian Peninsula with a population of 1 million. The strategic activities of the region include a focus on socio-health care and those aimed at the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Thus, tele-medicine, tele-care, or the development of applications for care and assistance in the home, as well as the monitoring of chronic patients.
The region also has a focus on the use of the use of "ohmic" techniques (genomics, proteomics, among others), and the development of health technologies, medical devices and new drugs. The health sector is also focussing on making infrastructure and public services a model of a "living laboratory" in which to generate and validate technologies that improve the quality of life of citizens.

Yes - We have an on going Personalized Medicine Clinical Implementation Project founded with 5.3 Million Euro (proyectomedea.es). We are looking for partners to share the information and other potential applications

Innovative initiatives for the promotion of active aging in the EuroACE region 2014 - 2020 INTERREG V-A Spain - Portugal immigration Improving the scientific excellence of the cross border cooperation area in the research field with the potential to become internationally competitive (1) strengthening research, technological development and innovation by: (1a) enhancing research and innovation (R&I) infrastructure and capacities to develop R&I excellence, and promoting centres of competence, in particular those of European interest.
