Background
The conditions for innovation in Sydsverige are good. There are several strong universities, e.g. Lund University, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Malmö University, Kristianstad University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. There is also a diversified business environment, with several established clusters - life sciences, information and communication technologies (ICT) and food - occupying a key role. The regions' S3 priorities in Life science and health will focus on the development of new life science products, services, e-health, business models and system solutions for preventive health measures. In Technology the focus will be supporting the development of Skåne´s strong tech industry, which have industrial leadership in artificial intelligence, Internet of things, 5G, connectivity, image recognition, big data and gaming, but also a strong Creative media industry, which is essential for digital transformation.
Is the region looking for international/European/interregional collaboration opportunities?
Yes - Through networks such as S3P on personalised medicine.
