Background


The Podlaskie region is located in the north-east of Poland and has a population of 1.2 million. The leading scientific institutions in the region are the University of Bialystok, the Bialystok University of Technology, the Higher School of Economics in Bialystok and the Medical University of Bialystok. In recent years the region has begun to invest in the development of personalised medicine.
